Leo K. Casper, CPA/PFS
Leo K. Casper, CPA/PFS is a graduate of Rutgers University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in and for the State of New Jersey. Mr. Casper holds securities licenses issued by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is a New Jersey licensed insurance producer with life, accident, health, and variable authorities.
Mr. Casper is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Southern New Jersey.
Mr. Casper is accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). The PFS accreditation, established in 1987, is awarded only to Certified Public Accountants and, accordingly, represents the highest professional standards of any financial planning credential. To date, it has been awarded to less than 1% of CPAs nationwide.
To earn the PFS credential, the candidate must demonstrate to the AICPA extensive experience and education in the following areas:
- Personal financial planning
- Personal income tax planning
- Insurance planning
- Investment planning
- Retirement planning
- Estate planning
In addition, the candidate must pass an examination confirming proficiency in the above-mentioned disciplines. The credential holder must submit to a tri-annual recertification process that includes verification of ongoing experience and educational requirements, and is bound by his state’s Board of Accountancy ethics, rules, and regulations, as well as the AICPA’s Code of Professional Conduct.
